Sigma Lambda Gamma is a historically Latina-based sorority founded on April 9th, 1990 at the University of Iowa. Their five founding mothers committed themselves to establishing an organization with the goal of creating a network of academic and social support for Latina women. Today, the sisters of Sigma Lambda Gamma strive to provide opportunities for lifelong empowerment to its members and dedicate themselves to the overall success of women in a global environment.
The Upsilon Gamma Chapter was founded at the University of Washington in March 2005 as the organization's first chapter in the Northwest.
